(IT staff augmentation)
Engineers who join your team, not a supplier you have to manage
IT staff augmentation puts developers and QA engineers inside your existing rituals — your sprint, your repository, your definition of done. You keep the roadmap and the technical direction; we keep the people employed, replaced and covered.
(When augmentation is the right call)
Augmentation works when you already know what to build and the only thing missing is capacity. It works badly when nobody on your side has time to prioritise, review and answer questions, because a borrowed engineer with no direction produces the same output as no engineer at all, only more expensively.
If that describes your situation, a dedicated team is the better purchase, because it comes with a lead whose job is to do the prioritising. The difference is who owns the backlog, and it is worth settling before anyone is hired.
(What we deliver)
What staff augmentation covers
Each engineer bills as monthly capacity on a rolling contract. The terms below are in the agreement, not in a sales conversation.
-
You write the brief; our recruiters and engineers screen against it. Shortlisted candidates arrive with a technical summary and a code sample, then sit a technical interview run by your team. Nobody is assigned to you without your yes.
-
The first two weeks are a fit period. If the engineer is wrong for your codebase or your working style, tell us and that time is not billed. Most mismatches surface in the first sprint, which is exactly why the window sits there.
-
Illness, resignation or a bad fit are our problem to solve. A replacement is screened against the original brief and overlaps with the outgoing engineer for handover at our cost. Long leave is flagged in advance at sprint planning.
-
The team sits in Noida on IST. A guaranteed overlap window is agreed in the contract — most of the working day for UK and EU clients, a shifted start for US eastern time, and a late shift where the west coast needs live hours.
-
NDAs before introductions, IP assigned to you, work on managed laptops with disk encryption and MDM. Access follows least privilege, is time-boxed, and is revoked the day someone rolls off. Named-person background checks where your policy requires them.
-
Rolling monthly contracts with 30 days notice on either side. Adding people takes longer than removing them, because screening and interviews take the time they take. Nothing auto-renews into a headcount you forgot you had.

(How we work)
How the work runs
Every engagement is scoped in phases, priced per phase, and reviewed with you at the end of each one.
-
01
Discovery
We map the problem, the systems around it and what a good outcome looks like, then scope the work in phases you can stop after.
-
02
Design
Flows, architecture and interfaces agreed before anyone writes production code.
-
03
Build
Two-week increments, a working environment you can open, and a demo at the end of each one.
-
04
Testing
Functional, performance, security and accessibility checks run through the build, not bolted on at the end.
-
05
Launch
Deployment, monitoring, documentation and the handover your team needs to run it.
-
06
Support
Fixes, updates and the next set of features, at an agreed monthly capacity.
(Why Team of Keys)
What you manage and what we manage
Augmentation goes wrong when the split is left vague. Here is the line we work to, written down so both sides can hold each other to it.
-
01
You own the work
Priorities, acceptance criteria, architecture decisions and code review sit with your team. Our engineers work your board and follow your standards rather than importing ours.
-
02
We own the employment
Salaries, appraisals, leave, hardware, payroll compliance and the cost of somebody leaving are ours. You approve who joins; you never have to run an Indian entity to keep them.
-
03
Written handover as a habit
Decisions, runbooks and context go into your wiki as the work happens. It is how a replacement takes three days rather than three weeks, and how you keep the knowledge when the engagement ends.
-
04
Seniority you can verify
Job titles vary wildly between companies, so we describe people by what they have shipped and let your interview confirm it. A mid-level engineer is presented as one, even when a senior rate would earn more.
-
05
An exit that is not a cliff
Roll-off includes a handover sprint, documentation review and access revocation checklist. You should be able to end the engagement without a single unanswered question in the backlog.

(FAQ)
Questions, answered
Outsourcing hands over a scope and an outcome; augmentation hands over capacity. With augmentation you keep the backlog, the architecture and the definition of done, and our engineers work inside your process. Choose outsourcing when you want somebody else accountable for delivery, and augmentation when you already know what to build.
Engineers bill as a monthly rate set by seniority and speciality, not by the hour, so your cost is predictable across a quarter. Rates vary with the stack, years of experience and the length of the commitment. You get a written rate card for the roles you want before interviews start, and it does not change mid-contract.
Contracts are rolling and monthly with 30 days notice on either side, per engineer. Scaling down is a note and a handover sprint. Scaling up takes a little longer because screening and your own interviews sit in the way, so give us a few weeks of warning where you can.
The overlap window is written into the contract rather than left to goodwill. UK and EU clients get most of a shared working day. US eastern teams get a shifted start covering your morning; a late shift is possible where the west coast needs live hours. Outside the window, handovers and questions are written so nothing waits a full day.
Yes. NDAs and IP assignment are signed before anyone is introduced. Engineers work on managed, encrypted laptops, in your repositories and cloud accounts, with least-privilege access that is revoked at roll-off. Background checks, restricted networks and device policies are all workable if you raise them at scoping.
